With due homage to Her Magnificence, Ms. Aretha Franklin, "...traffic's moving way too slow, drop the pedal and Go, GO..."

I love to wake up before the alarm goes off because I'm excited about starting the day.

Today started with meeting my sister of the heart, Mad and our TFL (trainer for life) for a workout.  Always a good way to start the week, even when the muscles or joints are creaky. We adjust and adapt and work it out.   Mad and I sometimes (usually) start our time before our workout with an existential conversation that weaves itself through the entire time we're together. I call it conversation surfing...sort of like catching a wave, then waiting for the next set...

Not an intentional serious conversation, but more a safe place to ask questions and "play".  Such a great gift to have a friend like that.

My goal for this week is a gallon of water a day.  I think I'm already there, TFL is betting I'm not.  (She's usually right, but doesn't mind being challenged.) Love that about her.

Pictures from the Park 1-1-2014

Happy Day New Years Day 2014

Hello from Virginia Beach! What a wonderfully peaceful day I've had.  If the practice is to stay in the moment, then I've had great practice today. I went to First Landing State Park this afternoon for a short walk, and discovered that many, many people had the same idea.   The park was so busy! I was met at the entrance and directed to an auxiliary parking lot, instead of my usual Trail Office parking lot.  I found my way to my favorite trail, High Dune, and managed a selfie at the top.
